1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: axles with Evaporust
January 16, 2026, 02:14:16 PM
I did this with a set but taped off the bearings to not expose the bearings to the solution.  I also used a shallow pan with just enough so the bearing was above the level of liquid. I would think if your axles are rusty inboard of the bearings it's probably a good idea to have the bearings replaced. The evaporust can be washed away with clean water so if you were comfortable submerging then you would want to thoroughly wash and lubricate them soon after.

Ok so the writeup says SAAC premier winner on this one 6s213
The motor was painted blue during the restoration
Any thoughts on why it was done this way.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Engine color for carryover
December 25, 2025, 08:44:09 AM
Should the engines for all the carryovers be black as they were built as 65 K codes to start, or would any be blue as they were updated to 66 trim. I know this was on the original forum before but it couldn't find anything currently.

67 10 spokes and 67 style stripe placement. Those hubcaps don't look quite correct either. Are they the regular Ford 15" big car hubcaps?

I believe that's correct.  Urban legend as they are different from regular mustang towers, but built that way from ford.  Kar Kraft installed the motors i believe.

Is Jeff Stephens still doing wheel restoration.  FB page doesn't seem to work.  I called and emailed no answer.
My wheel probably will need the wood replaced.
