SAAC Member Rick Zappia and his 1967 GT 500 was invited to display at the upcoming Car Show by Retromobile at The Jacob Javits Center in N.Y.C.

This organization has been putting on high end shows in Paris, France for 50 years.
Now they have moved to the U.S. and this is the first Show here in the States.
 
The Show is from November 19th through the 22nd.

There will be a Car Auction, New Car Show,  and a Classic Car display.

It was not entered in Concours.

A memorial service will be held at Centennial Lutheran Church in
Kimberton on October 24, 2026 with visitation starting at 10 a.m until
the time of service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment will be
private.

In Memoriam: Dave Mathews, 1967 Registrar

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dave Mathews, our 1967 Registrar, on October 7, 2026, at the age of 78.

Dave served as our '67 Shelby Registrar since 1983, generously sharing his wealth of knowledge to protect the authenticity of these classic cars. Many of you worked with Dave, relied on his expertise, or simply enjoyed talking Shelbys with him, and his unwavering dedication and honesty will be deeply missed.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, and his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, CT, on Wednesday, October 14 at 10:00 am. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Committee for the Great Salt Pond (https://www.cgspblockisland.org/) or Forgotten Felines (https://www.forgottenfelinesct.org/).

We ar sad to announce the loss of our dear friend Joanne Cantwell, wife of Chuck Cantwell. "She was surrounded by loved ones in person and spirit at the age of 87. A true love story lasting 61 years of marriage" to Chuck. She will be missed and memories of her at almost every National Convention and many local functions, will be forever cherished.

A Memorial service for her will be in a month or two;. we will post details when available.

Very little has been written about the final Hertz program at Shelby in 1969.

I'm doing research for an article in our magazine; does anyone one have info, first-person or otherwise, about the program?

Looking for photos and owner info/contacts as well.

In finalizing our contract for the track, we have tweaked the announced dates just a bit.

It looks like Load-in can be on Wednesday, July 14.

Event days are July 15-17, Thursday thru Saturday.

The Dinner / Evening program will be on Friday night

Trans Am activity will continue exclusively on Sunday and SAAC-52 attendees will be admitted as spectators for that day at no extra charge.
