Services Offered / Re: Smog Pump Restoration
August 12, 2021, 07:49:17 AM
A reminder that I am available for pump rebuilds; $415.  See first post for picture of the finished product.  The cars at last year's Indiana Fall Classic were awesome but even some of those needed help improving this underhood detail.  ;)

I don't know why my link to Daytona Parts Company is so tiny/invisible, but if you click it, it will work.  They insert a threaded brass sleeve and pin it in place.

These folks can fix it.  Give them a call to describe the process.

Tim

On my '66 I am running repro Style Steel wheels with 4-5/8" BS and 215/60X15s on the front.  They will touch the fender lip occasionally - like low speed, wheel turned hard, over a bump.  My car sits fairly low.  No problem in the back - I am running 235/60X15s.

LOL!  How may answers did you want?  Bob is probably correct for a '67, though I have been using the yellow ended ones on the C5 distributors I have done.  So the black one is same as Hi Po 289?
#36
I think you want the wire with the eyelet and yellow molded connector.
#37
Not a Shelby, but my 9/65 scheduled build San Jose car has the half clip you mention.

It has already popped off once but I don't see how you could get a c clip on it the way it is designed?

Me either!!  You probably just need to tweak the arm up a little so it is snug against the bottom of the plate when located over the pin.

I think you are talking about the ball bearing advance plate that positions the vacuum advance arm underneath the plate rather than on top.  If so, there is no retaining clip.

I have only seen that points felt for the cam on the Blue Streak points sets.  I think there is a little paper in the box that mentions the felt being impregnated with something and not needing any additional lube.  There is a Blue Streak grease for the points cam, called Lubri-Cam.

Daytona Parts Co. can install a threaded sleeve which is pinned in place to restore the threads in the float adjustment.  Tiny pin towards the rear so hard to see.

Unrestored car.

Sent you a PM about rebuild.

I do same as Charles.  The thing about Evaporust on these parts is it will actually brighten the zinc as a side benefit of removing the dichromate.
