Auction Description:
This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 was initially delivered to McCafferty Ford in New Jersey, and it was reportedly optioned with chrome-plated 14″ Magnum wheels and without a radio or over-the-top stripes. It is powered by a 289ci HiPo V8 that was rebuilt in October 2024 and fitted with a Holley carburetor and tri-Y headers, and power is routed through a four-speed manual transmission and a locking differential with 4.10:1 gears. The exterior is finished in Rangoon Red and features a fiberglass hood, GT350 side stripes, and side scoops, while the cabin is outfitted with a Hurst shifter, a Cobra-branded tachometer, and front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl. Acquired by the selling dealer in August 2024, this GT350 is offered in Texas with a Shelby American Automobile Club certificate, the owner's manual, service records from the 1960s, and a clean New Jersey title.

The car is finished in Rangoon Red (J) and was optioned without over-the-top stripes. Exterior details include a fiberglass hood, GT350 side stripes, hood pins, Talbot Berlin-style side mirrors, side scoops, and chrome bumpers. The seller states the driver's door was refinished under prior ownership. Rust is noted in the passenger wheelhouse and on the edge of the driver's rear quarter panel. Paint meter readings are captured in the overview video below.

Chrome-plated 14″ Magnum wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires, and a full-size spare is stowed in the trunk. GT350s were factory-equipped with Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes as well as larger rear drums than standard Mustangs. The seller states the tires were replaced and the braking system was overhauled in preparation for the sale.

The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl, and the car is said to have been ordered without a radio. The cabin is equipped with a Hurst shifter, rear seat lap belts, and a heater.

The simulated wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer flanked by an ammeter as well as fuel-level, oil-pressure, and coolant-temperature gauges. A Cobra-branded 9k-rpm tachometer is center-mounted atop the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, and only break-in miles were reportedly added since the engine was rebuilt.

The replacement 289ci HiPo V8 was rebuilt and balanced in October 2024, and it breathes through a Holley four-barrel carburetor and tri-Y headers.

Photos of drivetrain stamps are provided in the gallery.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a locking rear differential with 4.10:1 gears. The transmission was resealed and the exhaust system was replaced in preparation for the sale.

Documentation from the Shelby American Automobile Club is shown above. An owner's manual and service records dating to the 1960s are included in the sale.

You may want to try Shelby Parts & Restoration.  They restore belts.  Maybe they have a set in stock?

Description:
This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 was ordered on November 18, 1965, and initially delivered to Dub Richardson Ford in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It would spend most of its time in Texas and Oklahoma before it was eventually acquired by the selling dealer in 2024. Finished in white with optional Le Mans stripes, the car was also specified with optional folding rear seats. Power is provided by a 289ci HiPo V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes side-exit exhaust outlets, power-assisted front disc brakes, 10-spoke alloy wheels, a push-button AM radio, and a heater. This GT350 is now offered in California with a copy of the original invoice, a copy of the SAAC registry entry, a Shelby Auto American Club document, and a clean Texas title.

A repaint was reportedly performed in the early 1970s, and the car is finished in white with blue Le Mans stripes and GT350 side stripes. Exterior details include hood pins, a driver-side mirror, side-exit exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers.

The 10-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. GT350s were factory-equipped with Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes as well as larger rear drums than standard Mustangs.

The low-back bucket seats and optional folding rear seats are trimmed in black vinyl. The cabin is outfitted with Ray Brown Automotive lap belts, a push-button AM radio, and a heater.

Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer flanked by an ammeter and readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. A Cobra-branded 9k-rpm tachometer is center-mounted atop the dash. Separation on the woodgrain steering wheel is depicted in the gallery. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership.

Shelby modified the 289ci HiPo V8 with a cast-aluminum high-rise intake manifold for the four-barrel Holley carburetor as well as headers, a baffled aluminum oil pan, and cast-aluminum valve covers. Advertised output was 306 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

A copy of the invoice from Shelby American shows that the car was initially delivered to Dub Richardson Ford in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and lists additional charges for stripes and rear seats for a total price of $3,705.75.

That is at least one of the styles used and also what would be floating inside the Cobra vent caps.

I found this photo in my files.
