So, how do I re-attach the "down spout", or is it superfluous and can be removed altogether? PXL_20260704_211531443~2.jpg
With the air cleaner assembly properly installed, take one hand and grasp the heat rider tube, gently move it towards the air cleaner assembly until it is aligned, then push down on the air cleaner snorkel until the heat riser tube seats against it. Again, it's easy to do if the parts you have are correct for the engine, to make it a bit easier, loosen the air cleaner wing nut to allow additional movement.

Ok, so it just "snaps" into position? No screws or clips or anything else?

correct.
But it's made to work with the factory intake and set up. If you car has a taller intake manifold, thicker carb spacer, stuff like that mess up that they mate together.

Got it, thank you!
