The Shelby American (Fall 2021)
The SHELBY AMERICAN Fall 2021 19 This cobra sword/cane was pictured on a website that showed the various items confiscated at airports by the TSA. Based on some of the other items, this was pretty tame. Small pleasures. Steve McDonald spotted his Hertz car, 6S1431, in a pro- motional video for the Philadelphia Concours d’Elegance. McDonald also saw this GT350 in a video about GM’s turbine truck. The footage was taken at a large automo- bile show. You want a neon sign for your man- cave or garage? We saw a few on the Car Guy Garage website but if you want one, be prepared to pay for it. They’re not cheap. The Shelby neon [ above ] is 20˝ wide by 28˝ wide is $324.99. The Cobra Jet sign [ below ] is 30˝ wide by 21˝ high: $335.99. And the NewGen Shelby grille is 60˝ wide by 28˝ high: $1789.99. The coiled snake [ bottom ] is 45˝ high: $1799.99/ Cobra dreams for the feeble-minded. Colin Comer stumbled across this cus- tomized MGA with a Cobra badge (and a bad one, at that) on the nose at the May Indy Mecum auction. The car is obviously not a Cobra. Does the pin- head who owns this POS really think the Cobra badge is likely to convince anyone? It had the MG 4-banger. 5R002 is pictured in a nice ad for this year’s Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Cory Hitchcock was looking for images of the ‘65 Shelby/Cragar wheel when he came across the Cragar website and saw this image. Hard to tell if it’s a real car or a look-alike.
