The SHELBY AMERICAN Fall 2021 105 The Antique Automobile Club of America ’ s Cape Canaveral Region holds a car show every year at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida. This year the March 27th event attracted over 550 cars. The museum houses some 325 muscle cars from the 1950s to 1970s with some sophisticated muscle from the 2000s thrown in. It ’ s housed in a 90,000 square – foot display area with an 18,000 square – foot showroom and a 15,000 square – foot maintenance and restoration facility. Among the treasures are nearly 50 Indianapolis Pace Cars, more than 35 Shelbys, 30 Porsches, 29 Yenkos, 9 new Ford GTs and 80 First Place National Show winners. There are more than one hundred cars with less than 100 original miles, 40 cars with between 100 and 999 original miles and 30 cars with between 1,000 and 9,999 original miles.
