The Going Thing

I have a thermos that belonged to Robert F. Toner that was recovered from the crash site.

Good read on the B24.  Seems like the parts from that plane mirrored James Deans Porsche curse. Spooky.

Wow. That's quite the centerpiece to one's aviation collection.

The Going Thing

The "curse" was something that was joked about several times.  I even was harassed flying in that B-3 about it being bad luck.  I don't worry about it much to be honest.  I have several pieces of historical significance. They will all be donated by me, or when I am no longer here.

NC TRACKRAT

I know we're "deviating off course" but this is reminiscent of tales (of which there are many) about The Bermuda Triangle.  Here's one example:

"The Day After Tomorrow" (2004) where the politicians failed to listen to the warnings of the scientists and their denial delayed preparations to save lives.  Hmmmm...

What about, "Beach Blanket Bingo"? If that isn't about a disaster, I don't know what is?

Maybe this thread needs to be mercifully ended. It has done its job.

Certainly, you didn't buy into the global warming crap that is not actually supported 97% of the scientist as claimed?
The scientist working on this pandemic is considered the best in their fields by their peers.  Some people aren't interested in unity, They are focused on destroying a presidency that has worked for all Americans.

Honorable Mention:  Twilight Zone Season 1 Episode 8  "Time Enough at Last" with Burgess Meredith as bank teller Henry Bemis.

Since dropping DirecTV I've been searching for streaming content that interests me. There's so much stuff out there that the satellite was keeping me from! Currently watching the 4 seasons of the original Twilight Zone on Netflix (seasons 1,2 3 & 5). I've always been a big fan and almost always would tune in when a Twilight Zone marathon was running. But I've seen several recently that I either don't remember or never saw in the first place. "Time Enough At Last" is a definite classic. Good call NC TRACKRAT!
My favorite is 'King Nine Will Not Return' It's loosely based on the story of Lady Be Good that disappeared in 1943 and was found all but intact in the Libyan desert in 1958. The story is fascinating and tragic. I own several books and a relic that was recovered from the site.
Here is a brief. If you find it interesting and want to learn more there are several videos on Youtube and at least three books on the subject.
The crew was never honored, So I had a B-3 Bomber jacket painted to honor the crew.

What?
Over?
Did you say 'over'?
Nothing is over until we decide it is!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Hell no!...

Don't forget von Zipper. It's very disturbing. They leave you to wonder if it was a virus that created all of the brain damaged teens?

Doug, did you read about the brain dead teens licking poles on the subway and products at the store and posting it on Youtube?

shelbydoug

No but we had our first 17 year old death today. It wasn't specified as to the cause?
