James Taylor, Brian Wilson and the chick  :-*  in that Chevy, from Two Lane Black Top, what a great film ! when I went to see it at

the cinema in period, I think I was just about the only person there   ::)  It only played for a couple of nights

I've seen it a few times.  Strange flick.  Trivia over that Chevy.  That is the SAME one that is in American Graffiti, driven by Harrison Ford.

Edit to say, point was made already about the Chevy being the same car.

that 55 chevy was also used in american graffiti

in the movie the yellow deuce coupe was the hero

the race the deuce won was the changing of the guard (old vs new)

in real life that 55 would have smoked the deuce coupe

it was prepped with a big block Chevy, square port heads, muncie 4 speed , 4.88 gears, full suspension and discs all around

going from memory it was a 10 second street / strip car

I won't be able to track the Daytona down and buy it cause

1) I could never afford it
2) It was totaled in a Star is Born (so I have read)

I think I'm going to change my favorite from the '70 white Challenger to the '68 Bullitt Mustang.  After all, my ratio of watching Bullitt to Vanishing Point is probably 5 to 1!

just a note, the 70 vp challenger desert scene and the Bullitt chase used the same soundtrack. phred

The Bullitt Mustang is my favorite too, but I also liked the modified Meyers Manx with the Corvair motor in The Thomas Crown Affair. Which has been restored and will be at Amelia in 2020.

The Ferrari (imitation) from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  What an influential car / movie during one of the most influential times in my life.
Nothing beats a classic!
