Yes they runned a clone in the TOUR DE FRANCE AUTO for exemple :

Time period is right but it was at Petersen's Motorama museum (his first museum attempt) just west of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The grand opening was a parade of cars and a top fuel burnout on Hwood Blvd by Tony Nancy.
