I have a 68 Convertible and when trying to secure the latch the "hooks" don't make it to the locking piece.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

I'm under the impression I'm not the only one..

While there are a few adjustments (shop manual and other resources), it is likely that it has been installed too tight--which is an all too common fault with top people.  If you force it, you just may end up pulling the handle pivot bolts out of the header frame.  Then you have a real problem.

Top people tend to think only about wrinkles, not the rest of the assembly.

Bret,

Have you tried letting it sit outside on a hot sunny day? That should get some heat in the canvas and allow it to stretch. If you get it to latch, put it back in the sun and let it get hot again and then add some weight between the bows and allow to cool. I have used some rolls of carpet or bags of dog food. Repeat as necessary. Store with the top up.
