Hey folks please forgive my ignorance but I thought I would ask here about parts on the 428 Police package cars that were also used on 1967 Shelby cars.

Im pretty sure transmission, disc brakes, P code Engive assembly etc.

How about power steering cooler? Fined brake drums? Propeller shaft?

Thanks for any help.

The Shelby C6 was sourced from the Mercury side; specifically the 427 Cougar.  NOT Galaxy Police pkg.

Great thanks for the information.  I wasn't sure.

So...according to more research, the WSP 428 had the H/D C6 automatic transmission irrespective of P or Q code.  The difference from a Shelby would be the rear tail section, hence the Mercury "Cougar" side of the equation, otherwise same.

The correct transmission is the sum of its parts which assembled is identified by by a number in this case PGB W iirc. Many parts are common to car line in other words, the main case and tail would be common to any other cougar or Mustang with a C6. Galaxie tail longer. Tail was not cast iron until CJ came out. Servo, valve body and other internal parts different from standard S code C6. Also not specifically trans but 67 used a modified shifter as well
