thanks. Mine was black on my 70 and repainted it black when restored 26 years ago but thought I saw somewhere 69s(70) were a catch paint like a very dark gray or black(vary). Of course that's Dearborn so was wondering about Metuchin. Thanks again.

Shouldn't there be pinch weld blackout overspray, or is that only on fastbacks?

Yes the process (exterior painting) was the same no matter the body type. Coupe, Fastback or convertible traveling down the NJ assembly line.

Forgotten, missed or just ignored by some/many at this point in the hobbies evolution but people building drivers or sort of restored cars often choose to skip the step.

Coralsnake if you know the seller, let me know. I was the 2nd highest bidder. I'm only an hour from the location. Thanks

Quote from: 2008 GT-C on May 21, 2026, 01:26:24 PMThat is a true statement Coralsnake because I still don't know how many supercharged grabber orange Shelby GT's there are and they have a registry that my car is in and they gave me the paperwork. Not a gripe or wine on my part but at some point, it would be nice to know the car is a 2008.
You will never know the answer. They hide the registry because if everyone knew there have been 130,000+ NEW Shelbys built people would realize they are not a rare collectable.
The certificate they show is the one that comes when you paid CS to autograph something. Since I don't see a signature on the dash I'd assume if came with one of the diecast cars they sell.
