Here is a pic of the exhaust set up I outlined above with the Waldron 2-inch Transverse Muffler aluminized mild impostor. Also a video so you can hear the sound of the exhaust on our GT350.

Since you mention you want to go back to the factory exhaust manifolds and you want something that looks more stock, I thought I would mention the complete system that Branda Performance offers. Installation with the stock manifolds and H-pipe requires minimal tweaking, the system is the stock configuration and the sound is not obnoxious. I have had this system on our GT500 for about 7 years now and still looks good (not rusty).

The original cross mount rear muffler has been called an RPM limiter. Restriction is thought to be noticeable in the 5,000 to 5,500 rpm range.

The main culpret is thought to be the 90° turns into and out of the muffler not to mention the original od dimension of the pipes is 2".

Yes maybe I go with a Magnaflow or Pypes in stainless. It's really difficult to find something that is looking stock and making a good job.

Once you decide to straddle the engine with the O.E.M. exhaust manifolds, much of anything else, as long as it is at least "reasonable", further down the line really isn't going to make any difference in the vehicles' actual performance; at that point your choosing based on looks, sound and price.   ;)

Yes it's really difficult. I would prefer the original look but I dont want to spend over 2500$ on the exhaust  just to have it original in bare metal and then it start to rust like crazy.
