Why did the window sticker say not legal for sale ? What was missing on the GT500 that were sent to SAI that made them NOT LEGAL FOR SALE?

Why did the window sticker say not legal for sale ? What was missing on the GT500 that were sent to SAI that made them NOT LEGAL FOR SALE?

It's not like the vehicle had parts missing that made it unsafe to drive but was more for Federal compliance reasons. For example the EPA fuel mileage rating was not printed on the Ford Monroney label as the lower KR EPA fuel rating was placed on the KR supplemental Monroney label.

Other non-compliance issues were the vehicle not having a "modified by Shelby" door jamb sticker, a new underhood emissions label along with needing a new door jamb tire size sticker due to the larger KR wheels/tires.

So the Ford lawyers had their Monroney label marked as not legal for sale in the off chance the vehicle somehow was shipped to the ordering Ford dealership and not Shelby Automobiles. And yes that could and di happen with one of Shelby GT's. It took legal action to get the dealership to return the incomplete vehicle.
