My 66 with a 715 carburetor has issues, I need answers not opinions.
it runs find, have it out for a drive its good. Park it overnight run it the next day, it might be fine, it might not be fine. Upon attempting to start it, it will fire up then stall, try again, it fires up and giving it gas it will stall out, again and again. Trying to start it up using the choke, it will run maybe a second longer and stall out, again and again. try again, this time add a squirt of gas, fires up and runs for maybe another second longer, then stalls out. try again with a bigger amount of gas and I might be able to get it to run at about 3K and they it will run. Choke if used has to be pushed in quick or it will stall.
I replaced the fuel filter, does the same thing.....Can gas be draining out of the carb overnight? Can the fuel pump be weak? The only way I can get it running is by squirting gas down the carb....
Tell me what to do? I can get a repo fuel pump and see what it will do? Just do not know what my next step should be?

Are you using ethanol fuel? Your fuel pump may be failing. What kind of fuel flow are you getting while cranking? What is condition of fuel? what does the spark plugs look like? When was the last time the carb was overhauled? Have you got good spark? When the car is running does it want to backfire?

I have very similar problems with mine and it was the accelerator pump nozzles on the front carburetor were not spitting out any fuel.

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

NO on the fuel....
I was thinking that....
How do you check fuel flow?
The gas ins 100 percent great its the same used in all my cars.
spark plugs are all good
Overhauled about a month ago, and car was test run, all good.
Good spark and no it might burp after I add a squirt of gas, but iw does not backfire when it runs.

that just might be....how do you repair that issue...I thought it might appear to not be squirting much gas???? Not 100% sure though.

Disconnect the fuel line at the filter at the carb and run a length of fuel hose to a container. Using a remote starter switch,(key off, coil wire removed). Disconnect front small lead,( red with light blue tracer on my car), on starter solenoid and attach remote starter to solenoid stud and BAT+. Engage starter approx 3 seconds and observe fuel flow amount. If fuel flow looks O-K then check for restriction in carb. Subletting this to a quality local tech is an option.
