Of course finding one and paying the money is the easiest thing  but they are few and far between. Many that you find are from cars that have been wreaked or have rust damage that has to be fixed. That is a typical reason why they are separated from a car . As a alternative given the many scenarios and their costs it might be easier and at least comparable in cost to make one using a Mustang inner structure and a repro hood. If you know what the expected details are and supposed to to look like it is possible to make it happen. I have seen that done a number of times by different people. I know You should expect to have the car onsite so that it can be fitted to the car. Emery at Central Maine Mustang was making them years back but I don't know if he still is.

Curious what a price for said hood might cost? I know where one is..... that has been sitting in storage for the last 55 years!
