Hi, I'm looking at 67 GT500 and have question about correct rear end case. Did the SPEC case only come with 4 speed cars, or was it also used on Automatic cars as well. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

It was common in 1967 to have "SPEC" in place of the date code on 1967 High performance cars on the center section of the rear axle. Ford and Shelby did not care what transmission was used. The rear ends came from the same place.

I've had quite a few 67 GT 500s.

Most of them had the Spec cases but I recently purchased a two owner untouched 67 without one
I've had 2-3 prior without them too.

4 speeds and automatics..
Didn't make a difference..
