2025 MCACN Barn find 65 GT350

Haven't seen much on the 1965 Shelby GT350 in the barn find display at 2025 MCACN.  Was this the Shelby Vern did a short video on just a while back?
Just curious about its story.

I believe you are correct.  This is the car.

Yes, believe that's right.  First time I walked by it, saw some Shelby parts, but no gauge pod or cutout on the dash and the hood was down, so I kept going.  Found out later it was a real '65 GT350.

When you told me that, I thought that was one of the funniest things I heard all day. 

The owner seems like a nice guy, and I am glad he kept in touch with Vern.

Chris is a great dude... and because he was so friendly and patient while I was sussing out 65s... he got the fast track to this car which is a GREAT example.

FYI, the pod was taken off the car, rocker stripe primer-ed over, and standard steering wheel installed by the long term owner because he didn't want people to know it was a 65 Shelby and attempt to steal the car out of his backyard. I am glad that his tactics worked on the likes of Charles Turner 40 years later!!!!

I talked to the guy with the car that is going to be restoring it. He said its pretty much unmolested, and some of the more unique items were with the car, but had been removed so they would not be lost in the movement of the car.
Looks a little rough but if most of its there then its a true real rare piece

LOL!  That would have been my first inclination had a friend not warned me. I spoke briefly with the putative restorer who I believe is out of Detroit area.  The car will be ready for next year's show.  What a great find!

I view the car and spoke with the owner...super nice guy...it looks.like a good preservation candidate...but he's decided to give it a full restoration.
