The large fitting is like what was used on the cars originally from SA.

The fuel filter adapter does not typically get a gasket between the threads and the carb. If you decide to put something there for insurance like a thin O ring or gasket be sure that it is not visible once the adapter is installed.  The fuel filter does get a gasket . That gasket typically came in the filter box. The pictures of the filters that you show are shaped like the typical modern evolution. The typically Rotunda marked fuel filter base is thicker and the length sometimes is different.

I use a Power valve gasket between filter and adapter.

Lemans bowls are npt, never overtighten as it isn't needed and only wears out the threads.
