Firewall holes on export brace

As everyone knows, the 66 (and 65) Shelby Mustangs have an export brace that has a thick plate welded at the center of the firewall with equally spaced bolt holes.  My question is whether the cars arrived at Shelby American with unequally spaced bolt holes and the metal plate was welded over that configuration.  I was checking under the export brace at the firewall and seemed to feel those unevenly spaced bolt holes amidst the equally spaced holes.

Engine revving to disturb

Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

The 65-66 GT350 export brace, welded reinforcement plate, and washer reinforced shock towers were all installed at San Jose. Yes, you can feel the original unevenly spaced bolt holes so I assume those were pre-drilled earlier in production?

Yes it appears that the cowl and the firewall panels were all prepped for the standard Mustang two piece shock tower supports

I planned on putting one on my dad's blue A code so I began wondering how it was done at SA. This drew my curiosity to see what was done to 843.

Anyone got a part number for that reinforcement plate?

Looks like it may have been 3829431 after a quick look at paperwork. It was part of the Mustang export package of the time period as you likely know. Not sure what your going to use the part number for. Don't recall ever seeing it as a serviced part but others may have found a reference I missed.

Just wanted to add it to my list of parts I keep for the sake of completeness as I've never seen it referenced before. What is the paperwork to which you refer?

The p.ace I found this listed, as one would expect, is the list of changes done at San Jose to the car that would become Shelbys. What is often referred to as the add/delete sheets. Found it interesting that it was a hardware number used. Came went for the export brace at that time.
