My dad had this map in his car when I was a kid and always stared at it because I was a Mustang nut. Then I learned there was a car that looked this cool. 6 Shelby's and 55 years later I still have the same map. Who knew a .10 cent map could cause a life long addiction. Anyone else have a piece of Shelby related advertising that started their obsession?

A buddy of mine used to have several of those because he was one of the biggest Texaco collectors in the world, and even had Texico come to his place one time along with a tv crew from australia, and the local tv station also did a couple of shows on him. We laugh that we've both been on local TV 2 times and who's going to be on TV A third time? Let me say He's someone who is known to some people on this Forum and use to own a right hand drive Cobra, a GT 40 and also drove a Lola Race car on the street off and on. I should contact him and see if he still has some.

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

We had lots of those Texaco maps.  Dad was career USAF so we traveled a lot by car.  All were probably tossed over the years when a new one was handed to my parents on the next trip.

I LOVE vintage auto illustrations and have always thought the one on this Texaco map was great. Those old maps show up fairly regularly at junk stores and flea markets.

I love how the artist took a lot of liberties. Take a close look at what is exactly going on with that "Mustang".

I see elements of a '67/'68 Shelby and a De Tomaso Mangusta.

Yes
Got some 1960's Playboys and there are Shelby Mustang adds in those.
