Marcus, are they unique to a 69 Shelby or did Ford use on other vehicles?

Well.....guessing by whats stamped on the originals it came originally from a 1964.  Looks like they sell something that sure looks the same...not sure if it fits.

The bulb receptacle that has a positive and a ground wire is just as hard to find . Of course receptacle can be improvised just like the lenses cover cap with the repro plastic chrome cap and lens can for original.

Agreed Bob...looks like I will need to make something so this works from the best choices I have out there.

Truck part DOTZ-13564-A (lens only) looks the same on the outside, but I'm not sure if it attaches in the same manner?

The Original Black one has more Metal covering the Lens than the Chrome one does.

I though many decades ago it was said to be a mid 60s light for a Ford pickup step bumper.

So yes....it appears to be the light of a step bumper pickup truck originally.
The DOTZ-13564-A version is threaded on the back so not sure there is enough space to get that in there.

Ill work on a solution and post here when I have something that looks good.

Here are some photos of what others have described starting with the large retaining collar version used on 69/70 truck bumpers and which has the same SAE-L 64TK JWH chrome cover and glass lens.

This is the correct light socket with separate ground and power bullet plug that's used for Shelby license plate light application. The ground wire is white paint stamped with a S9MS FOMOCO identification number.

Here's the NOS original 1964 truck bumper chrome versions with non clear glass lens that were repurposed by Shelby and brass metal painted black. Unfortunately when installed into the fiberglass tail light panel the bezel metal prongs really chew up the edges of the plastic panel hole and many fell out and were lost. Some lucky owners noticed them loose and applied sealant and rotated them slightly after reinstalling to engage in better section of fiberglass edge. Very common issue you see replaced with the wrong only half shrouded no 64TK marking white plastic lens made in China make shift solution.

That one is a close alternative because of the printing on the metal cover however the cover does not have the little metal holding prongs around the perimeter like original. Of course you could improvise something to hold it in. Over the years I have had to make up a usable bulb receptacle and found a donor from the napa catalog.
