Why is there's difference between these two nos gauges.

Besides condition one on the left has a dark grey background and is assemblyline and the one on the right has a black background and is a service replacement.

Also one on the left is not NOS. You can tell from the paint missing and slight fading on the pointer besides the dings on the trim ring. It is a common practice for many to put the taken out of commission typically malfunctioning gauge and put it in the box the new one came in. That is probably what happened here. At the very least the cosmetic condition is less then desirable at the worst it is not working right ether. The oil pressure gauge were prone to fail more then the Amp gauge. I assume because of the box it is in is why you think it is NOS.
