Just got these antenna support parts from Ed.  He mentioned OK for me to post pics.  And that he has a few more of these he'd consider selling.

There are more then several ways that I have seen them installed and if that is all you have seen then you just haven't seen enough original examples. Since they were installed by Dealer service people they were installed any number of ways. The hardware you show is the most typical however I have seen similar but not exact hardware also used. That was most likely because given the installers they substituted similar alternative hardware that worked if the provided hardware was missing for whatever reason.  The way you show in the picture is a example of how it was installed with the least amount of tools and thought. The way that makes the most sense because it provides the most support is when the strap is snipped shorter so that the clamp could be slid down further on the tube at a less sharp angle that will provide better support. Some were installed with the longer provided strap as your example where other installers used good workmanship skills to complete the install in a efficient as well as more supported way. Because they were installed in many different manners in concours it wouldn't be proper to write a deduction for the any number of the ways that they were installed back in the day. Grossly untypical installation hardware or loose bolts are things that I have noted or deducted for in the past depending on the situation.

I recently made this pm300 mounting strap off 1 of my originals exactly made as i ran out of these and couldnt find the original type that was used in 69. All the  replacement types i found over the years had different size holes and spacing different and thinner or wider metal. The strap was usually installed on the bottom antenna wrap around clamp (with the flared out lip not flat type) and the single hole by itself strap end was screwed into the clamp so u could pick one of the adjustment holes used on the other end of the strap all depending on where and how the dealer installed the antenna and it can be different between fastback and convertibles since they have much different rear quarter panels. I have seen 69-70 shelby antennas dealer installed many different ways and  support strap screwed to the trunk floor and the side of rear wheelhouses but i think it was supposed to be screwed to the bottom wheelhouse hole where the white panduit strap goes for wiring harness and excess not used metal either cut off shortened or just bent over wrappped around the wheelhouse or tucked under trunk mat however the dealer pre-delivery guy wanted to as so few shelbys were sold at that dealer vs 69 mustangs. I only had a handfull of these straps made since so few 69 shelbys still have the pm300 antenna still in the car.

Also dont know how many shelby dealers got the rear shelby  antenna install template as they are very rare as long ago i got both a fastback and vert 69 shelby rear antenna template back in the 80s and havent seen any since then. I am sure the big shelby dealers used a template to install them correctly but some small dealers may have only had a couple cars and they just installed it the way they wanted as i have seen them mounted back to the rear too far and in or out farther on quarter especially on fastbacks that have a bigger area to install antenna vs the verts that have a bigger wider trunk lid. So for these reasons u have different mounting holes to use accordingly. I wonder if all 69 shelbys had the template in the trunk with the antenna when delivered new?

Hi, just get the authorisation from Bob Gaine to share this installation sheet I've uploaded from the rip forum many year ago.
I've used this to install mine in my S9...
From all the bracket installation pattern I've seen, this one is at least documented.
I suspected no installation document was available and part of the antenna kit in the trunk at dealer when they installed them other wise they would have respected that.

That factory installation drawing is a example of one of the least common ways that I have seen the PM300 installed out of many over the years. It is where the strap is screwed down to the trunk floor through the trunk mat :o . Most use the hole at the bottom of the wheel house because of easy access and less labor because of less steps and for the best finished look IMO .

i have seen it installed that way but not on any cars i had or worked on as you would have to cut out trunk mat and i have seen original trunk mats cut out around the antenna mount strap and clamp area but not very often. as the strap would have to be twisted flat to trunk floor and drill hole and it looks more hacked up when done.
