Tilt away neutural saftey switch

That small switch in the vacuum
can be cleaned.

Remove the vacuum motor

Untwist the canister to open it

Remove the switch by grinding the rivets

There will be several small parts and two springs that come out

Clean everything and reassemble

You can use two small screws to replace the rivets

Or send it to me and I will see if I can get it working

Thanks for the great info. I may take you up on your offer. I bought the car in January. It had been sitting since 2010 so it's taken me a while to bring it out of hibernation, (everything leaked). I'm going to enjoy driving it for a while before fixing more stuff.
