Okay need help with process done to paint front clip for a 1969 Shelby gt350 or 500. Im getting ready to paint a 1969 convertible GT350. I have never done a 69 and I didn't disassemble this car before I started restore. It came to me apart.
My question is....Was the stone guard on assembly when the base color of car was done? or was it added to assembly along with grill? or was it all assembled, painted body color, then painted argent silver. need help soon would like to paint tomorrow.

As the factory photos in the Coralsnake link show and to clarify the body color parts were painted first and then the other parts added when the front was assembled prior to painting the gray.

Morning guys.  Hey was searching on here for info and came across this.  Do you recommend a dark grey or argent that is good for the grill and headlight bucket color?  Brand of paint or paint code?  thanks guys

Yes it was on . It was not heavy paint base coat just secondary overspray before being painted the gray which dark argent closely mimics.Grill area was painted prior to grill being fitted. Grill was painted black from the mfg than painted grey prior to being fitted . Back side of grill mesh sometimes shows black from incomplete backside coverage. After grill mesh fitment the area was sometimes hit again . Most likely to cover any scratch's in fiberglass headlight bucket area from grill edges during fitment.

Perfect Bob and appreciate that. So my other question would then be is the entire grill and headlight area painted dark argent? Buckets, lower guard, Hood lock brackets? and center support brackets? I know the hood latch support is Slop grey.  Thanks as always

Already answered in previous post.Hood lock brackets are black and the center support bracket are black. Don't forget to do the black out on the back side of the valence and its over spray prior to installing the front clip on the car.
