RIP Claude. May years ago I had email conversations about the export Shelbys with him. Very gracious with his time. Gary

I dealt with Claude many years ago.
I imported a 69 GT 350 Conv. that he sold.
My main concern was the " import" serial number it was assigned.
He reassured me that was import law.
Was real nice and pleasurable.
Ended up letting it go to Chris Brown many years later.
RIP

What is an import serial number? My car has the original Ford one. Sold new by Claude. He had to stamp the Ford number on the Shock tower and he had a plate made up under the hood(Import number?). My car was titled in France(4th owner was French as i'm the fifth and I have the chain) with the Ford Vin.  Gary

That number you show in your picture.
Import serial number stamp. That is/was not a Ford stamped number.
Not common, so I wanted to know if something was fishy.
That's all.
