Thinking of redoing wiring want opinions on factory correct (Branda) vs. new upgrade (Painless performance). Does new fuses and wiring viewed as acceptable safety upgrade or stick with stock reproduction.

Thanks

If you are keeping the car stock, I would stay with an OEM type wiring harness.  I would talk to Pete (Coralsnake) here on the forum.  He sells the best OEM wiring harnesses made by Alloy Metal Products.

If you are restomoding the car and adding a lot of power features (power windows, locks, wipers, seats....etc..etc.) an aftermarket "Painless" type harness may be the way to go for that application.

As others have said if going the complete restomod route then a non stock Painless type wiring would be more appropriate. If not doing all that it will be prudent to stay with stock . When the time comes for another care taker all that aftermarket stuff is typically looked at as cost of parts plus labor to change back to stock against the value of the car.

I used the Alloy Metal wiring and it was easy to use and looks original with colors and plugs.  Well worth the money.
