Looks like some real potential. Was blue originally.

Yes, In my missing shock tower data have this car in a small cluster north of the main cluster. The main cluster is ~1540-1920, smaller cluster ~1940 thru end of production.

Was this GT350 ever shown at a SAAC convention in Peoples Choice perhaps?  As owner of 6s2187, I have found cars one or two VIN numbers from mine. If I recall, all were sapphire blue like mine.
Just nuts.

If you are implying that this red car is supposed to be blue it was stated in the Hagerty description that the car started out blue and was painted red by the past owner. If you look through the registry there are examples of various sequential vin batches of cars painted the same color.

I wonder why it has stalled at $35,250?

I would say just like some BaT auctions, bidders are waiting for the final countdown.  Bidding will probably pick up with a day or two before the auction's close.

Unless I miss-read it, the 1997 SAAC also has a code for "Current color" and it is "W", for White.   Perhaps Blue, then White, then Red.

I've never heard the term shock tower caps, can someone please enlighten me?

If it starts it's streetable.
Overkill is just enough.

Upper shock bracket, beehive and shock tower caps are just some of the names used for them. In this context I believe they were referring to the reinforcement washers that were part of the export package and typical. For whatever reason a relatively small number of 66 GT350's didn't receive the reinforced caps.

Thanks for the clarification. I did know about the washers though, but haven't heard them called caps Before.

Picture 69 appears to be of a C6 transmission, probably from the GT500 he says he has. I'd ask the seller about it, but he doesn't seem too keen in answering questions...
