Did the 66 models come with floor matts?  If so what did they look like?

"Come with" no

Dealers would sell you anything (or include it at times) to make a sale and or a little extra profit

Normally this means from stock - FoMoCo or Rotunda stock. At that time you would have the one color pony ones  or the same style without the running horse. There are a number of aftermarket ones that have been sold for so many decades some consider them "original" and there are later versions of the generic floor mats sold through Fords parts counter and catalogs

Here are the two versions of the front floor mats. If you interested in showing you'll need to remove them before you show the car. Just in case that is something you want to consider

I like the clear ones with Cobra emblem design where the horse typically is. I have only seen a couple of those in all my years. Vern got a pair in a 65 GT350 car deal recently and they are extremely cool. Someone should repro those.

what ever was available to the dealers back in the day

the most common one seen are the black with the horse

they are reproduced and run about $75

we have a set of clear ones, but after 60 years they aren't clear anymore they are yellow amber

Thanks for the response.  Yes the clear ones would be ideal but very hard to locate.  I am just looking for something correct to protect the carpet when not getting it judged.

The clear Cobra mats are like hens teeth the find. It is hard to go wrong with the tried and true Mustang horse mats IMO.
