I have to remove the lower control arm on my '66.  The shop manual shows a tool to support the upper control arm while removing the lower arm.  Does anyone know where I might buy this tool.  Thanks for any help.

Marcus Anghel used to sell them on his website    https://anghelrestorations.com/   You can just use a length of 2 X 4 in a pinch. While the wood is not a exact fit like the metal one described in the shop manual the wood one will not mar the metal. At least it has worked for me when I couldn't find my metal one.

The tools work great but on a 65-66 driver's side you will need to move the fuel line out of the way since it runs right where the tool needs to sit against the frame.

There are several sources for tool design and tool acquisition information. Here is a link to the Vintage Mustang Forum that gives very specific tool design info. If you look deep enough in the web, you'll see examples of how some guys use a section of 2" x 4" lumber.

There is a description and dimensions of the tool in every year of shop manual 65-70 which are the only ones I have in my library.

I used a 2X4 cut 7 1/2.You will have to hold the 2X4 in place until the arm comes in contact with it.

Let me add. Use the length in the JD picture, I just used a pair of grade 8 bolts & nuts instead of welding anything. It worked.

The piece in the shop manual will work but it is overkill in my opinion. I cut a piece out of 3/4" steel that works well and is simpler than welding.
