Hello  :)

6S779 finally undergo its restoration!
I will make a post about that soon :).

I have a small question about the painted Magnum 500: does anyone has the paint code for the gray paint? (Or something close)

Thank you

SFM65

Many have already asked about the paint code, but it seems there's never been a definitive answer. Everyone creates their own formula to get as close as possible, but I hope you will find the answer.
Good luck with the restoration, and I can't wait to see some photos !

Pretty sure Motor Wheel had a paint code for the color the challenge is finding records of it. Not as easy and finding out Shelby or Ford details. As mentioned there has been many attempts to match some closer than others.

I did find a code or a mix in  my records  :(

Thank you for your answers.

The problem is that I have no idea of the real color of the wheels (no example nearby here in France in think)
I think mine were already repainted, but I have no clue if this is the right one.

Does anyone have a picture or something with the right color?

Thank you again

The challenge is that with digital pictures the cameras very often alter the picture to make it "better" add to that all the possible settings for the person taking and possible saving the picture then all the possible screen settings. Results is that most often what you see is not what it is in person.

But since you asked

Examples from the rim protected by the wheel

Don't believe Bill ever repainted his

Poor picture of a NOS/service replacement

And a used example

Thank you very much!!!

Yes, I know that pictures are not the best way (due to color alteration...), but I don't have any other options :(.

That's what I thought, the original color is quite a light gray ; mine are quite darker (picture below)

I am pretty sure that the wheels were repainted in 1979 and remain in this condition (pictures from the previous owner, I am very grateful to him!)

Do you think that a tint like RAL7035 can be something not so far?

Thank you
