Hi All - I am having an issue with the brake lights function. The brake lights only come on when the brake pedal is pressed all the way down and held.  The lights do not come on as I am pressing the brake pedal on the way down to full pedal stop.  If I ease off the pedal a bit the lights go off but the car does not move.  The turn signals and hazards work as designed and the lights are bright with new bulbs.

Is there a brake pedal switch that could be worn or a pedal adjustment so that they would come on as soon as the brake pedal is slightly depressed as when just slowing down for a turn versus only when the brake pedal is completely depressed and held?

The brake light switch is attached to the upper portion of the pedal where it connects to the brake system's push rod.  The switch can go bad or it can be the wrong one with the improper spring tension.  Power brakes & manual brakes each require a different spring tension for the switch.

As said above, replace the switch.

Will do and thanks for the help!  There is a video on You Tube that shows how to do it and yes, since it's an automatic, it is a "B" suffix part number.
