Big Block Shifter Reverse Rod Help

Question ;
 I Did a moch up install of a 68 big block shifter on a Mustang toploader with C7OR mid position tail and FE kick back plate.
Im wondering if the reverse rod is supposed to have this appx 3/4" upwards bend near the middle

Also, am I correct in thinking that rods and levers were the same on big block / small block? ,
I realize that big block mixing box was slightly different with the reverse lever angled back

Any info is good info, thanks
