Up for sale is a set of 8 original 289 Hipo rods.
I believe they would be correct for Boss 302 as well if they had the other style oval head rod bolt.
(update 4/4/23: there are slight differences between Hipo 289 and Boss 302 rods, These would not be correct for Boss 302)

Not correct for a Boss 302. They used/had different rod bolts. 'Football' type on the head portion. Also, the Hi-Po rods have the broached cut (weaker) for the larger rod bolt heads as pictured.
Past owned Shelby's:
1968 GT-350--Gold
1970 GT-500--#3129--Grabber Orange.
Current lifelong projects:
1969 Mustang Fastback/FOX chassis, 5 speed, 4 wheel discs, with a modern Can-Am 494 (Boss 429), Kaase heads, intake with a 1425 cfm 'B' Autolite Inline carb, ala Trans-Am style
1968/70 Olds 442 W-30

A subtle, but significant, distinction is that a Boss 302 rod is spot faced vice broached.

Here is an example of the Boss 302 rod Bolts

Thanks for all the feedback and pointing out the differences in the machined area for the head of the rod bolt .

Update: The rods are correct for Hipo 289 and not Boss 302

Just something to ponder: ............................

One would think that the only reason someone would mess with original H.P. rods would be because they specifically 'wanted' H.P. rods, not something else.  So perhaps it's not something that can be debated with that which someone else might find to be "logical", but rather more of 'whim' decision; which also depending of the circumstances may be the most important consideration.   :)

I doubt anyone will buy them at this absolutely ridiculous Price.

Now now, lets behave; after all, someone should be cautious in making announcements of the value, that of someone else's property, that they actually have no real interest in.   ;)

Lets see,............ if one were selling a correctly part numbered & date coded............. distributor or carburetor or even a radiator for a Hi-Po 289, what would be the price, ridiculous or.............?  And these these connecting rods which beyond just nomenclature as often is the only visual clue in other enhanced value articles, are actually quite unique in their engineering execution, that from the standard examples, so why are they not also worth a premium?  Besides, from the photos, they do appear to be what might be a nice set, worthy of consideration for one's effort if attempting to "properly" restore their Hi-Po engine if wanting as much as possible to be "correct", including what one typical doesn't see, but will still know if it's right or not.   :)
