Also sometimes the stamp can be hard to read especially if it's on the car and dirty...I tried to read mine by crawling under the car when I confirmed my Shelby/ford vins with d.matthews as I didn't want to drill a rivet on the never removed Shelby vin plate...I finally gave up and broke out the drill..Thank god everything checked out as I had "only"owned the car for about 28 years at that point...
