throttle return spring bracket 302 4V auto

I thought the return spring always attached to the throttle rod?

It does.

It appears there have been some modifications to the bracket and installation in picture 29.

The spring is correct.

The pic below is how I mounted my spring to that bracket I had and the throttle linkage. Wrong spring because none were available in 2008.

I had a "history" with that spring. For me they would break at the bracket connection.

I found a photo of the spring that I had snapped several mos ago.  I count 20 coils as well.  I had painted the spring light blue based on what I thought was correct information at the time.  Unfortunately I don't have a "before" photo.
