I have a 69 deluxe instrument cluster with 120mph speedometer and 8k tach. I was told the early Shelby's came with the same setup. Is this true? I am going to get sell it and want to make sure advertise correctly.

I am unaware of a regular production 69/70 Shelby car that had the 120 mph speedo. Possibly one of the preproduction cars. The instrument cluster is rare and desirable in its own right. If you want to be on the right side of ethics and transparency then I would not advertise it as being associated with a Shelby IMO but that is just me.

Thanks Bob. I wanted to make sure before I listed it and stay away from improper statements.By chance what would be a good asking price for a great shape working cluster?

I haven't had to buy or sell any in recent memory so I don't have a good read on the current prices.

You could look for an ink stamped date on the back of the cluster, or gauges.

They used to bring $1k or so, but lately I've seen a number offered in the $800 range and not sell. The aftermarket gauges have come a long way, and they have ones that look OEM now. So I think there's a little less demand unless the chrome housing is in primo shape. Just my opinion.
