Backup Light Gasket Color

Need to replace the backup light gaskets on my '67.  Were assembly line gaskets grey or black.  I have seen both on cars.

Originals in 67 - 68 were grey. In 65-66 they were black and exactly the same shape.

There is confusion with this as Ford actually serviced some of the C7ZZ ones in black, although assembly line were gray.
