Putting humpty dumpty back together, and somehow lost the pictures I took of the brake master area before disassembly.  Is there a brake line routing or diagram anywhere for an early (Jan 67) car?  Need to see where the dist block/cigar valve and hard lines all go.

For my other drivers, I have used the NAPA brake parts with success.  Doing my 67 GT 500 now, looking for decent quality brakes and hardware to be driven, not judged for correctness.   Already have the original calipers restored by Goldline Brakes, new rear wheel cylinders from Branda, as well as a set of NOS rear drums.  Just need front pads, rear shoes and rear hardware.

Howdy again, inching forward on my 67 500 and now I'm looking at this ratty original C5AF dual point distributor.  Anyone out there specialize in rebuilding these units?  I've never torn one down and don't really want to experiment on this one.  It's complete but crusty, and I'm not opposed to shelving it and using a modern replacement that appears close to stock, using dual ignitors instead of points.  Any ideas?

As I reassemble this GT500, I am using the original harnesses (rebuilt by Midlife) under the dash and to the tail lights.  As for under the hood, he recommended going with new since mine were trashed completely.  And preferred manufacturers for a solid replacement harness - headlight, gauge feed and alrernator?  It's a 4 speed GT500 built in Jan '67 with inboards and no A/C.

Looking for advice on the best way to prep a vintage cast aluminum COBRA T-pan for my 428.  It's an original "SSS" cast pan from before Branda started casting them.  It's pretty dirty from sitting around for about 45 years or so.  I thought it should be coated on the inside, since it's really porous.  I've never used one of these before, any suggestions on best cleaning methods?  Should I use the Branda oil pump pickup with it?

Looking for some feedback on the work done by Goldline Brakes in WA state.  Needing to address my '67 GT500's brakes, and just found them.

Nothing coming out of any manufacturer has sexy hip curves like the '67 Shelby Mustang.  Nothing.

Looking for help on what finishes should be applied (if any) to various parts for my Jan '67 built GT500.  Everything is coming back from the blaster this weekend, so I'd like to get them painted or coated properly ASAP before any surface rust can happen.  Parts:  rear axle housing, backing plates, disc brake shields, caliper brackets, spindles, coil springs, motor mounts, strut rods, bellhousing and separator plate, clutch fork, sway bar, hood hinges and springs, trans crossmember, front crossmember, tail light boxes, headlight buckets, front bumper brackets.  Probably a mix of chassis black, semigloss black, and raw steel?  Is there any product that can be applied at home without a spray booth... Or (gasp) by brush?  For the bare steel or iron parts, leaving them raw is not an option here in the wet NW, it has to be coated with something.

Finally putting 683 back together after 40 plus years of dormancy.  The entire power steering, front suspension and brake systems need to be redone.  Rather than replace it all, I prefer to have each subassembly properly restored by someone competent.  So far I've found Chockostang for steering component restoration, Anghel Restorations in AZ for all the brake system and front suspension components, and the BJ BK carb master in the midwest (his name escapes me now).  Am I on the right track with these folks?  Any others highly recommended?  Not shooting for concourse points, but proper functionality and keeping all the date coded items intact.

I'm hoping to get some non-concourse advice on here.  Putting my 67 together for driving and the entire suspension is shot.  I've used Mustangs Plus stuff on other cars with some success.  I'm not a fan of most Scott Drake stuff.  So, what vendor should I use for new upper & lower control arms, spring perches, ball joints, everything except the coil springs and spindles, calipers.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Tail light trim
September 02, 2020, 11:12:24 PM
I have an early production car which should have the smooth tail light trim. Unfortunately, I only have a pair of the screw in type trim that are original and in great shape which I plan to use on my car. I do have a few spares which are all broken, and needing repair. What would be a fair asking price for them?

I received three FE iron bellhousings and two steel inspection covers with my car when purchased in pieces.  What part number should the right one have for a January '67 built car?  Any distinguishing features?  Thanks in advance,
JT

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / BJ BK carb question
December 18, 2018, 05:24:57 PM
Howdy- recently dug out my C3AF-9510-BJ and BK carbs to send out for full restoration.  The date codes are stamped on the opposite side of the air horn (not directly under the LIST number) and are 363 which tells me they're third week of June 1963.  So, looks like these were likely off a Galaxie R code, not my car?  Could Ford have used "leftover" 1963 carbs on my Jan '67 built car?  Thinking not likely.
Question is, should I bother doing a full-blown restoration on these carbs with recoloring, etc if they're not correct?  Or just get them operational and working?  Not going for concourse restoration, just a nice driver.
Alternatively, if these are in fact Galaxie carbs and not totally correct for my car, I'd consider a trade for some Weber 48IDA's...
Thoughts?

Howdy - just getting back into this long term project (67 GT500) and need some stuff dealt with by professionals for reassembly:
Distributor rebuild
BJBK Carbs, linkage and fuel log rebuilt and refinished - is Larry at Oly's Carbs still doing them?
Master cylinder rebuild - found a guy in AZ but is there anyone more local?
Front Suspension and rear axle powder coating
Steering box rebuild
Top loader gearbox and 9" rear full rebuild and upgrade to T-lok diff- lots of local shops in Seattle but anyone really good, and maybe outside the city (and not as expensive)?
Thanks for any help with sources for this stuff!

Need a used or NOS fiberglass nose for 67 GT500 with a February build date.  Also need radiator and shroud for same car, big block four speed.

Hello from the cold NW- I have a unused 1967 fiberglass flat taillight panel, believe it to be NOS.  it was purchased from a stash of parts in storage in PA since at least the early 80's if not longer.  I previously had a NOS raised panel one that had a manufacturers mark, but this one has zero markings or numbers that I can find.  It looks like horse hair glass.  Thoughts about its origin and value?  I want to unload it since I restored the original one for my car, but I don't want to misrepresent it.  Thanks for the help!
