I use Ralph Poor in Toledo, Ohio.  His eBay user name is "Poorfam".  He's my go to repair person and does top notch work.  He has done several radios for me.

Craig R.
does he restore knobs and components or just the insides?

He will clean and detail the radio externals as well.  Which radio do you have?

Wanted to Buy / Re: 1969 AM 8-track radio

Looking for a 1969 AM 8-track radio. Doesn't have to work, at least average condition. Or a 1968 or 1970 would do too. Thanks  email. Mike013480@yahoo.com

Keep in mind that the 1968 8-track utilizes shorter volume/tuning control shafts which can create a problem when using year specific knobs.  The 1969 & 1970 each use the longer shafts.

I was just putting up my new calendar for 2019 and noticed that it started with December 2018.  WOW, nice way to end the old year and bring in the new!

Saw this while cruising the Bay.  Not sure if it's been discussed yet.  Not mine but thought it was interesting.

^^^  If I'm not mistaking, the version showing the hole punches is considered a second printing.  The first and second pictures show an original "hole punched" version (sorry for the smaller size pics).  I don't have access to a 1st printing to make any comparisons.

I came across an interesting '66 owner's manual the other day.  I have seen various repos but not one quite like this.  The most interesting part is the center page.  This one shows no punch holes like the ones shown in the 2nd printing.  All print is the same without any "darker" letters which would indicate touchup.  The big issue that stands out on the center page is on the lower, center section where the stabilizer bar is described.  It should read "ONE INCH" but instead reads "O     CH" and this is the area where a 2nd printing punch hole would be located.  As an aside, sometimes this area is incorrectly filled in with "1.0 INCH".  If you look at first picture showing the covers, the one on the right (repo) is a bit darker blue and also the 4 lines of print use a slightly larger font.  The fourth line also goes all the way to the end.   Has anyone come across this version before?

Data plate decodes as originally having a 3spd manual trans and not a 4spd.  However, 4spd may have been installed at a later date.  It's a direct swap.

Was this a rusted rear section rebuild with a Cal Special donor rear end (seen next to damaged car, notice paint color) used and subsequent failure test drive manuever?

That car looks more like a Mustang II coupe based on the side rear window design (squared off at top and not pointed).
