I have 4 correct 14x6 chrome Magnum 500 rims for a '66 Hertz Shelby.  This is what remains from the stash of correct Hertz rims that I was able to accumulate over the last 20 years!  Three are driver quality at best and the 4th will need restoring.  The latter I believe to be a '66 rim while the other 3 are most likely  slightly later production, possibly '67 or '68.  All rims have the proper 3-1/2" backspacing.  See the following SAAC thread regarding the later issue rims.

https://www.saac.com/forum/index.php?topic=26302.msg194386#msg194386

I washed and cleaned the rims with some steel wool.  One rim is quite nice, another has some rust in the area where the center is welded to the rim, and one has some rust in that same area along with some just above that area.  The 4th rim has much more rust and needs to be re-plated. PM me with any questions or photo requests.  Price is $500 plus shipping for the set.   SOLD

I picked this up off the Bay only because of the interesting stampings.  I'm always on the lookout for the obscure.

I'll bet that was a pleasant surprise.  It is pretty well preserved.  Are you going to try to remove the black tape?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that if one chooses to use Mopar magnums a spacer needs to be used on either the front or rear for clearance.  I remember a Shelby that had such spacers and magnums at the SAAC convention maybe 10+ years ago.

Now that I like!  That's a decent sized sign too.  Great looking!  Thanks for posting that.

I've attached a photo of part of the back page from the Motor Wheel catalog for 1970.  They provided the unique Magnum 500 for the '66 Hertz Shelby.  I was hoping to find some correlation between the "1059" that I mentioned earlier and the catalog's wheel number of 36046 which is for the 6" Hertz Magnum.  No luck.  On rare occasion you might see a sticker on the inside of the wheel with ID info.

Denny,

I remember this being brought up before, maybe during the "old" forum.  I don't believe any conclusive information was provided other than wheels with these stampings might be post '66 and were found on wheels manufactured after that time.  I just sold a matching set to a forum member and they all had the same stamping as yours but with different characters.  I'm pretty sure that all four wheels had "4-2-68" along with "1059" handwritten with a marker on the inside.
