I'm trying to figure which would be the correct carb to spacer (Ford 1" aluminum) gasket to use when utilizing a Holley 6919 600cfm carb.  The engine is a 289 4bbl in a '66 Mustang GT.  Should it be the same gasket that is used between the spacer and the manifold?  That one has the 4 equal size bores.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to avoid any potential vacuum leaks.  I have attached a picture of the underside of the carb.

It's time for me to do the rear brakes on my '66 Hertz.  Is there anything special I should know before purchasing the parts?  I'm going to replace shoes, all hardware, and brake cylinders.  I assume I would be ordering parts for a '66 K Code (or Special 289) Mustang in case "Shelby" isn't listed in the parts book.  The car is street driven only.  I'm accustomed to ordering parts for the wife's Escape or my '96 Mustang driver so that's why I'm inquiring.  Any tips are greatly appreciated!

The most recent Shelby Registry mentions 8 different race tracks found on the Hertz Sports Car Club cocktail glasses.  The ones mentioned that I have never come across or seen are Kent & Sebring.  Does anyone own one of these glasses?  Also, I was under the impression that these came in boxes of 6.  As these were giveaways would a box contain just one type of glass or 6 different ones?  If the latter were true, it would make more sense that there were only 6 different glasses offered.  Any comments/opinions?

Just received a notice that "parts are now available" to perform airbag recall (#16S26) service on our '06 Hertz.  This is actually to replace the existing airbag inflator which could explode during a crash shooting out metal fragments.  I called my Ford dealer and had to put my name on a list so that they can procure the necessary part.  Once in stock, I will get a phone call to schedule an appointment.  The repair should take less than half a day.  At least it appears as if the wheels are finally starting to turn with respect to resolving this recall.

I'm looking to find a Road America Raceway Hertz cocktail glass for my collection.  I have a Bridgehampton or a Daytona glass for trade.  These glasses are in very good condition with the only issue being that the gold is worn off the area where the Hertz Sports Car Club insignia is located.  The rims still have some gold.  I will trade for a glass in equal condition or would actually trade both of these glasses for a Road America glass in very nice condition with minimal gold loss.  I can't post pictures, even downsized ones, so send me your email address and I will forward them to you.  Thanks very much!  Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Many of the newer, non-original type car batteries do not have the ridge on the bottom edge for the battery hold down bracket to rest on.  Consequently, the battery is free to bounce up and down.  In my case, the hold down bracket just butts up against the battery and doesn't do much good.  Any thoughts on how to remedy this situation without looking too tacky?  I was thinking of taking a piece of fuel line and slitting it lengthwise then sliding it over the edge of the bracket.  This would take up the excess space and allow me to tighten down the bracket against the battery.  I could also lay a small spacer inside the fender side of the battery tray to bring the battery itself closer to the hold down bracket.  This would allow the bracket to tighten up against the battery.  Anyone else have an idea to share?  By the way, the car in question is my '66 Hertz.  Thanks much!

Here's today's flea market find.  It's a Ford High Performance Parts catalog along with a letter signed by high performance manager Al Rivera at the now defunct S&C Motors in San Francisco, CA.  Many, many high-perf cars were sold through this dealership.  Enjoy!
