There is nice looking Shelby GT350 conv (not mine) on Facebook out of WV. Ad in Marketplace says, "1 of ten shelby convertibles given to playboy enterprises in 1968..." and " Out of the 10, this is the only black one".  Pretty interesting history. 

I don't have a link to share but an Owen Brands in NJ just posted an ad for " 1967 Ford shelby intake" and it appears to be the intake and carb for $3800.  Maybe someone here is interested if they confirm authenticity and negotiate.  I'm not affiliated with it and don't need it just figured I'd share as it's not something I see every day on Facebook marketplace. 

I'm looking for 4 original 14 inch 1966 Shelby ten spoke wheels. If anyone has a set please PM me. 

If anyone wants to chime in to give me an idea of what they go for these days (if you can find them) let me know.

I may have to go down the route of getting repro's but figured I'd first ask what's out there for originals. Thanks. 

I have a friend who isn't a computer guy. He has a 68 Shelby and over the decades lost the small chrome piece at the nose where the two thin stainless/chrome grill molding strips come together at the top in front of the shelby letters.  Is there a dealer who makes and sells just that small piece?(he wants to avoid buying a whole kit for a few hundred). If someone has one they want to sell and are willing to ship then PM me with your info and I can have him call you. Thanks for your help.

A couple people here mentioned a reserve- does anyone know if there is one and what it is?

Looks like someone found the ad from the last time it was listed for 59k and sold prior to paint. The paint looked decent before the respray- I would have left it unless I had to paint it. The ad also shows a block that came with the car (who knows maybe the original) but the BAT ad does not show an extra engine or block is included. If it was the original engine hopefully the new owner will get it.

It's also at an Audi dealer in Tacoma Washington for a steep 115k. (saw it online with a search- the seller is a salesperson at the dealership)

I agree, the prices are all over the place from that red 68 500 (1385) we saw sold for 73k on bring a trailer to the rusty blue (1769) 350 I saw last listed at 47k OBO on eBay and of course the ones higher like the 80K 67 GT500 that was in Hemmings from Alaska (too far for me  to some of the even lower end sub 50K cars (without looking back I know of two fastbacks and one tired convertible) that have traded hands recently in not so public ways lately.  My problem is I usually hear about them about a week after they are gone LOL.

We all know the real good ones will always bring big dollars but sometimes getting a project without original fiberglass or original drivetrain (and throw in some rust) is the only way some people can get behind the wheel of a Shelby.  If I only kept some of the cars from my past!!

Between firsthand stories and of course the volume of recent YouTube videos there has been at least 10 Shelby project finds recently and many of them were bought by well know YouTubers and dealers who frequent this forum for in the 30's into the 40 thousand's range. I don't own a Shelby and as I've been looking, I have noticed far more projects being pulled out of yards/barns/garages in recent months than in recent years (aging ownership base, economy- who knows for sure).  I love hearing the stories and the idea of these guys hopefully saving and not just flipping another Shelby.  I would like to get into a 1968 or earlier lower end PROJECT in that sub 50k range similar to many of these recent finds. I know of the dealers who sell projects who post here but prefer to buy direct from an owner (obviously to avoid a 10-20k flipping mark-up) I know some of these are being sold so the seller can have their two minutes of fame but if someone has one being neglected, is ready to sell in this price range, and doesn't need to be featured in a YouTube video then please PM me directly.

(p.s. I know it's unlikely that I'll find a Shelby this way with this price range, but I figured why not ask and at least get to speak about my amazement of the volume of recent finds)

Thanks for the feedback I'll let him know. Sounds like if he wants it done correctly and not wait a long time that he will have to just take the time and use a lathe himself. 

I have a friend who's not an internet guy who had a set of 10 spokes bead blasted and is trying to figure out the best way to restore the original look. Are there any shops who restore them who I could refer him to?  Also, I think he'd rather do it himself and used to own a body shop and is pretty handy- is there an efficient process to get the polish look back to the wheels and a correct paint color he can use. He believes them to be correct 68's.  I'll pass along any of your recommendations. Thanks.

Awesome thanks so much. I should have picked up on those diagonal holes as a tip to where it mounted but I missed that connection. 

I am piecing together a non shelby 1968 J-code GT fastback. I was going to start reinstalling the underdash wiring (that I got in boxes) and came across this bracket.  Can anyone tell me where and how this mounts (pictures?) and what the assembly is used for?  Maybe that thick green wiring is for the console?  The wiring diagram booklet I have shows wires but not where things are attached or routed and aren't super clear. Thanks very much for your help.

Lots of work but a cool project.  It just got a little out of my reach in price or I would have gotten it to get back in the Shelby world (not that  forums and videos aren't fulfilling lol). I'll find a pre69 that I can afford eventually.  Congrats to the new owner hope he/she is a member of this forum and the club.

Thanks for the refresher.  I did have the reinforcement plates stuck in my head (maybe I have them in my head lol) and now remember the extra welding referenced.  Thanks.
