In the article below this photo (which shows CSX2601 at the start of Sebring '65) are the interesting words of Ken Miles, about Shelby's plans for 1965:

I like how the Cobra is wrapped around the leg! That very symbolically says it all...

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Title
August 24, 2018, 11:28:06 AM
A couple years ago, after a personalized license plate change request, I decided to try a different approach with the DMV. I included a letter with my paperwork that outlined the history of Shelby American and the uniqueness of the cars it produced. To my utter astonishment (and delight), this is how my new title came back:

I had been expecting the typical red-tape bureaucracy, and a spelling of something like "SHELB" - as it had been on previous titles for my car.

Check out this "Sharp new decal" in the May 8, 1965 issue of Competition Press & Auto Week:

In this dated photo at Castle Rock, Colo. we see Bob Holbert in CSX2127 leading Bob Bondurant in 2129 and Dave MacDonald in 2138:

And speaking of Hayward Ford, here's the advertisement they had in this issue. I believe they used a stock SAI photo of CSX2012:

Shelby American History / THE WHEEL - July 1965
August 08, 2018, 12:02:21 PM
This cover of THE WHEEL has a very nice photo of Dick Carter & Hayward Ford's 5019 on it that I've never seen before.

It also shows a pin striping detail on the hood that I wonder how many of us have ever known about:

Parts For Sale / Blow Proof Bellhousing
August 08, 2018, 10:35:44 AM
I have a steel scattershield for a small block Ford for sale. It was installed in a Boss 302 that I had purchased, and it appears brand new except for the visible evidence that it had actually been bolted in. I removed it in the 1980's and it's been in my attic since then.

I can't find any stampings or part numbers on it, but I am convinced it's a Lakewood #15200 as shown in this comparison photo. It's exact in every detail to the Lakewood advertisement.

$300. Please PM me or contact via email if interested - Thanks.

On my NOS wheel covers, my eyes see:

"A" as flat black,
"B" as semi-flat charcoal,
"C" as flat Argent silver:

We all know about the 1969 Shelby wheel insert glue/rivet recall, but I just found this mention of another wheel problem in the September 1969 issue of CAR LIFE on page 13, and found it quite interesting.

I had not known about the lug nut issue too. Is that the same, or a different recall?

All very good observations ^^^^ about this photo!

Dennis - why is there no month/year sticker on that plate?

Thanks,
Kieth

Brian - look what Shelby signed near my car at SAAC 11 in 1986:

All is not lost  :) ! !   Rodster-500, Thanks for that ! ! that is a great resource started by SFM66H  Kieth Champine.

Mike

Thanks Guys - George and I are still trying to deal with the amount of the loss. If Rod hadn't saved the day by recovering a portion of GWC, I thought I would never see the first post at the start of it all in April 2014 ever again. I have saved a screen shot of that now, and have used it to show others that it did indeed exist.

At one time...
