Hi Twisted,

It is a small data set, but a nice used or NOS or restored pair sold recently on a popular auction site for just under $800.  See eBay No. 295108456501.

I nice used set sold for an offer under $500.  Can't tell the actual selling price.  See eBay No. 326236578433.

There is a NOS with a BIN price of $4000.  The seller is dreaming.  The manifolds have been on auction for a long long time.  See eBay NO. 354640277050.

Its not clear if your H-pipe was NOS or repop.

Best of luck

Up For Auction / Re: 6S798 - on Bring A Trailer

According to the registry, the car was repossessed two separate times.  That is crazy. I can see once, but twice? Is that a record to beat?

Hi SF65,

You're going to have a challenge putting together a complete set in a single purchase. I have two front shocks, one used and one rebuilt.  The used one is currently on my car, previously rebuilt. See attached images for rebuilt shock

1965 GT350/R-Model / Heater motor tape 65-66
August 14, 2024, 02:12:40 PM
Hi all,

Brant at VCM posted an image of an unrestored 65 GT350's heater motor from the engine compartment.  He notes the tape around the "seam" of the motor.  I have also seen this tape with the heater motor two wires under the same tape.  I presume to prevent the wires from getting in the way at San Jose plant during engine and tranny installation.  Once the engine is installed, the taped wires are no longer needed and has no reel purpose.  Was this wire taping random or was the wire taping introduced in later production.  Thoughts?

Up For Auction / COBRA scatter shield 6 bolt
August 02, 2024, 12:06:41 AM
Hi all,

Up for auction is a reproduction COBRA scatter shield. The seller does not specifically say original or reproduction, but does throw the word Factory in its description. This might imply it's an original if interpreted incorrectly.  The easiest and quickest way to spot a reproduction is the cast part number inside the scatter shield has absent dashes. All originals have the dashes in the part number.  There are other little clues, but this is the easiest one. I've attached the image of the eBay auction.  I'm not sure how to copy and paste the URL into this link from my phone. Best of luck.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: Cast Iron T-10 Housing?
July 31, 2024, 11:28:28 PM
Hi 67#0083,

Later cars received a cast iron housing, plus a main case made of cast iron.  Likely a cost cutting measure.  It is possible that between the early all aluminum and the later all cast iron T-10M-1's, some hybrids with a mix could have been made, but I have not read this in any documentation.  You would have to ask an original owner of a middle production cars.  I know 6S1757 has an all cast iron T-10M-1 with the close ratio M high nickel gears.

It is also hard to judge if a car came with the cast iron tail housing and aluminum main case.  They are out there.  So, where they replaced due to damage to the aluminum tail housing or did they come that way from Shelby American/Ford.  Hard to tell.

Best of luck

Concours Talk / Re: 1965 G2 Radiator
July 01, 2024, 02:52:20 PM
Hi PaulD,

I agree with Bob Gaines.  The baffle is not needed.  I have direct experience with this.  I had a W-MO 3-65 radiator rodded out and at the time did not know better to have the shop reinstalled the baffle.  My radiator is still the original core and is working fine.  Best of luck.

Hi all,

Patients has paid off.  I found a pair of the longer versions.  Yahoo.

I no longer need the longer eye bolt, but will have a extra short and long to sell later.

Take care

PaulD said "I do not believe the radiator has been recorded."

Hi Paul,  because the internal baffle is missing, it is likely it has been rebuilt and the re-builder did not put the baffle back.  Finding a correct baffle will also be very hard.  Or, a previous owner had the radiator rodded out ant the baffle was removed then.  Best of luck

Depends what you want to do.  There should be a local drive shaft shop that can rebuild your drive shaft, but it will not be concourse, but would be functional.  For one thing, the counter weights won't be right, but if you fabricate a variability of weights that look OEM, they might work with you.  If you want a part number sprayed onto the shaft, you will have to make your own stencil.  My son has a device that makes stencils if you need help.

Best of luck
