Also rear pump should have 2 nuts the painted 1 that holds id tag in place then a non painted thin nut that holds index bracket in place. Rear pump index bracket supports rear of pump & holds pump pressure hose in place when installed. We have some of these original brackets on our ebay store & they havent been repoed.

i recently sold  a c6oa bell i bought from out west  yard & when i cleaned it it had a color code sprayed on it top side area yellow if i remember not sure & i took a picture of it before i shipped it out. It had a early pre -cj date code  so i didnt note it in my 69-70 shelby BLACK book.

Years ago i bought a shelby helment like in 68 shelby catolog from an old pro motorcycle racer who said he only bought it because of the snell rating type he had to have at the time to compete. It had 68 date & snake decal on front top but what was really rare is he had kept the shelby box it came in & what was REALLY rare in the bottom of the box all wadded up was the plastic helment liner it was wrapped in when packaged before shipping & the plastic bag had a big gold cobra snake printed on it. When i asked him about anymore shelby stuff he said this helment was his back-up & he had another other one that he mainly used but it wasnt in as good of shape so i told steve j. about it & he bought it also.

Looking at jeff s. 351 w engine photo the heatshield goes on first next to manifold & lift hook is last so it can be removed like some were even thou i have found alot of those lift hooks over the years at swap meets & junkyards so many stayed on the engines.

the 69 -70 351 w mach 1 & shelby  gt 350 heat shield & snorkle are both unique & no repo made & i recently uncovered some that were hidden under other parts ( imagine that) from years ago parts trips out west so i have several to choose from if needed  also air cleaners & price determines condition as heat shields start at 125 & snorkles start at 50

we have some 351 w heatshields on ebay now under meyercars    i  collected them back years ago on west coast rust-free ford parts buying trips as these shields are always rusted away out east. These  351 w shields have not been repoed like the 302 has & price depends on condition of rust pitting . we also have 351w snorkels of which are 351w only that the heat shield attaches to.

Correct pete In order to get my special order paint midnite orchid metalic 69 gt500 drag pack W-code loaded convertible built to match his wife new 69 T-bird regular production colored midnite orchid metallic (purple) car for his & hers matching purple cars the shelby dealer & wealthy couple special ordering these cars used  family friend Robert Lowe (president goodyear tire) akron ohio name to order the car for them. There were extra notes on shelby cobra letterheads with the shelby invoice & the notes had rush order  & special paint info & other info on the notes & nobody ever seen those type papers with the invoices. Ford pulled a grabber blue ordered gt500 vert & had paperwork changed over to the special ordered purple & door tag color is blank (since its special ordered paint) & the build sheet has all the special order paint codes on bottom remarks area of build sheet.

Yes phil  big ELIMINATOR orange lettered on top rear quarter at end of big orange body side stripe &  big  ELIMINATOR  orange lettered across top of rear spoiler & we have good photos of all that . This cougar had a unique rear battery tray & trunk floor reinforcement plate under battery tray & was all still in the car when i found it & its different than the  b9 mustangs since cougars have different trunk floors. I also have all the side decals nos & original 4'' mag front mag wheels & tires & austrailia  rh drive gearbox setup was still on the car mounted on outside lh frame rail & idler arm mounted on outside rh frame rail so none of the manual steering was in the way for better header clearance when the big BOSS 429 & 427 SOHC engines were in the car with 2x4 intakes. The 69-70 cougar eliminators were named after dyno don from when he named his 66 67 427 SOHC fairlane he raced had in big 12'' lettered ELIMINATOR on the whole side of that car as he eliminated the competition.

Orange stripes over Candy paint . We know who painted the car back then & the original fiberglass doors still had all the original paint still on the jambs & insides & the backside of the rear qtr. end caps (that were never exposed ) had all original candy paint so i left the original paint on them. I have 20 or so  original detailed photos of the car inside underside trunk underhood & interior when it was  candy painted & assembled with complete fiberglass front end & doors & even fiberglass dash along with lexan glass & aluminum grill.
