Anybody know what driving credentials qualify as Intermediate and Advanced? Driving schools? Number of HPDE events? Racing experience?
Usually you pick your own run group since you know your/car ability.

I really appreciate the feedback gentlemen! I hadn't given a thought to the mags not passing tech because of age. I did check for cracks but wasn't aware that magnesium got more brittle with age. So....
When I was crewing on 5R001 I sprayed a wheel to clean it and saw a neat row of bubbles coming out of a crack that went all the way around the spoke. These had been crack checked about 6 months earlier.

Shelby reactivated his mfg license in the 80s whe he teamed up with Beverly Hills Mustang to build 12 more 66 GT350 cinvertibles. 4 for CS, 4 for BHM and 4 to sell to pay for the whole run. CA required that 95% of the car be new for DMV to recognize them as newly manufactured cars.
6S843 was registered in CA as a GT350 CPE. I got a no smog pump ticket and took the owners manual (with the CA smog exemption letter in it) to the judge that along with the fact that the cop wrote Ford as make on the ticket got it dismissed.

8 to 10 cars would be great but my driveway is narrow though it is long.
When we hosted COCOA BBQS the Cobras got parked on the lawn and the Shelbys in the driveway or on the street. The guy up the street is a die hard Chevy drag racer (Has an original COPO Camaro he bought new in 69). He was working on the Police Departments drag car at the time so burn outs were blessed and encouraged.

SAAC-43 / Re: General Convention Info Wanted

Hit Google maps and check out the hotel parking to see if it's suitable for truck & trailer parking. If you park/unload at the hotel look for a spot you can put the car back in the trailer for the night for added security. Most conventions will have SAAC members bench racing in the parking lots way into the wee hours - much later than crooks like to stay up for an easy score.

Knew a guy who bought semi truck full of goodies from H&M garage sale. Even some Indy motors in the mix.

For me performance includes turning so big blocks are out. Additional weight is also a problem so 65-66 is preferred. In other words give me an original 65 or early enough 66 to have the 65 chassis tricks.

Ford GT / Re: Ford vs John Cena - Ford GT

If the contract lacks the 24 month no sale clause this could have a snowball effect beyond Cena.
:o
I'll bet the original application contained the 24 month clause and somewhere in the contract is something referring to acceptance of original application to purchase. Ford pays their lawyers too much money to screw up like this. However if they did there will be a lot of $500-700,000 GTs on the market.

It would be based on value of cars sold and probably didn't take into account condition. If a bunch of great cars sold last year and a bunch of roaches this year overall value dropped.

Will we eventually be able to have a Reference Photo section like before?  It would help if it were set up by year/s, then sub-topics like: drivetrain, suspension, interior, exterior, etc.
That might be as easy as adding a sticky at the beginning of each years forum for detail/concours photos ONLY

At least it did the job of keeping the tag with the car.
Or did they not have rivets when they transferred it to the replacement body?
