  Hello Jack,

Here's how I removed the steering wheel from my '67 GT350.

!. Protect the wood rim with cloth/rags.
  2. Get a brass drift and a mallet/heavy hammer
  3. Sit in seat, prop your knees/thighs against bottom of steering wheel.
  4. Leave retaining nut ON !!!!!
  5. Hit center of steering shaft with drift and hammer.
  6. One or two good hits and it should pop off.

  Good Luck.  Doug

   GT350Lad,

Thank you, for posting the pictures, front & rear, of your original GT350 emblem

   Steve McDonald,

Thank you, for posting the picture of the measurement, of your original GT350 emblem.

Those pictures match perfectly, a GT350 emblem, I was given many years ago. A friend, noticed, that my Shelby,
did not have the rear emblem and gave me one, for Christmas. He did not know; my Shelby was a "Carryover" and
like many of them, did not receive one. Never had the heart, to tell him, I wasn't going to put it on the Shelby.

      mlplunkett,

I have, for the past 10 years, been using PS ENG. wheels, 15" x 8" with AVON 225x65R15's on all 4 corners. I
believe, this is about, as big, a tire/wheel combo, that will fit 65/66-wheel wells. My fenders, are rolled, as that
is what I prefer. It is close, but no rubbing.

I see that Avon jumps from 225-60 to 245-60. Is that a bridge too far? I'm building a 65 R-Model tribute and wondering if I can go up to 8" wide wheels and wider tires.

I have 8"x15" PS ENG. wheels, mounted, with AVON 225x65R15's, at all 4 corners, on my '66 Shelby.

The fenders are rolled, as I like a crisp, aggressive, wheel/tire combination and I have no rubbing.

    Randy,
What would be a correct, rebuild kit, for the 65, early 66, Aluminum T-10?  Since mine is currently out of
the Shelby, I should go thru it, at this time. Thank you, for any information.

has turned up, on 5R529 since it arrived, at Rice-Holman Ford, in Merchantville, New Jersey.

TonyS,

Charter Auto Transport, is a Shelby experienced transporter. I just sent my Shelby up to Tony Conover's, Performance  Motors this past week with them and they will be bringing it back to Florida, when the work is done. They have moved my Shelby several times now, with no problems. And their prices are competitive.

Charlene and Peter, do a great job and and right now, they are making almost weekly runs, down here to Florida,
bringing the Snow Birds back. So you should be able to schedule a trip with them.

Their number is: 717-961-9386

I went to parts school and learned to look at the bolt holes as in that ebay example. The ones that bolt it to the block. They are off center.

What that means, is, the register, of the pilot bushing, is off center and your transmission input shaft, won't line up.

I think everyone can agree that the original Goodyear Blue Streaks didn't last very long, I've heard they were all pretty much worn out by about 6,000 miles .
Any of the experts out that can add to this would be appreciated
Thanks

I'm not an expert, but, I can tell you, from my experience, with the '67 Speedway 350's. I was the original owner
of a '67 GT350 and experienced, first hand, the short comings, of those tires.

When I first noticed, an unusual wear pattern starting ( the outside edges and center rib, of the tread, were higher
than the ribs, between the center and out side edges. Looked, sort of wavy. ) So I checked and adjusted tire
pressures, and rotated tires frequently. But, it didn't help much at all. They were worn out, in about 8,000 miles.

The next issue, was a shocker. When I found out my local Goodyear dealer, was only going to charge me $58.00 +
tax, each, I about passed out. You have to understand, $250.00 for a complete set of tires in 1967, was a HUGE
amount. But, according to the owners manual, that, was it's special tire.

Fast forward, about 10 months or so later and I'm faced with the same problem. There were 3 friends, who also had
'67 GT350's.  So, I talked to them, about what they were going to do, about tires. Well, one of the guys had already
done the research and he had found, a Firestone, black wall tire, with almost identical dimensions and ONLY $34.00
each. That was a no brainer. So, the Shelby, was shod with Firestone black walls, which were not only easier on the
wallet, but gave me 2+ times the mileage. I was a happy camper and I've always had black wall tires, on my
Shelby's, as I decided, white letters were not worth the cost.

That's my experience, with the Speedway 350 tires. Others may have different mileage.
